Practically, what can farmers do on farm to manage watercourses?
There are many ways to manage ditches and drains throughout your farm. But what can and can’t you do whilst still remaining compliant with regulations? In this video Pete Wright, SEPA, visits George Strang at Mains Farm who is part of the White Cart Water Flood Prevention Scheme near Glasgow, to discuss what farmers can do manage water around the farm, why the rules are in place and ways to approach a water management issue on farm.
